Prayer and Meditation

(Meditation: I John 4:19)
God, my relationships with others reflect my relationship with You. When I
know that You love me and accept me, I am free to love and accept others.
When I know that I am a child of God, I am free to love others as brothers
and sisters. Help me to love You, and to love others as I do myself. In
Jesus' name. Amen.

(Meditation: I Corinthians 10:31)
God, am I addicted to success? Do I keep pushing back the finish line because I'm addicted to competing? Why do I keep raising the bar? God, show me the difference between being called and being driven. In Jesus' name.  Amen.

(Meditation: Psalm 34:1)
Everlasting Father, You are the Prince of Peace, the Author and finisher of
our faith, and our Redeemer . . . You are the Rock of our salvation, the
Alpha and Omega, and the King of Kings . . . You are the Light of the world,
the bright Morning Star, and the Great I AM . . . You are the Resurrection
and the life, the Good Shepherd, and the Bread of Life . . . You are the
Vine, our very present help in trouble, and the Word of Life. God, open my
unseeing eyes, and warm my cold heart, that my life may be filled with awe,
praise, and thanksgiving. In Jesus' name. Amen.

(Meditation: Psalm 91:2)
God, every time I get anxious, it's because I'm afraid I will lose something
I cling to. Every time I get angry, it's because someone gets in the way of
one of my attachments. When I feel threatened, it's because something
threatens one of my gods. When I'm miserable or depressed, it's because I'm
afraid of losing one of my idols. God, help me to let go of my attachments.
Help me to trust You to provide, and trust You to guide me in my work and my
life. Lead me in the paths of righteousness. In Jesus' name. Amen.
